It’s day four of the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair at the Keystone Centre in Brandon. Did you know a pig can squeal as loud as a jet taking off? Well, things aren’t quite that loud here at the fair, but there certainly is a lot of hustle and bustle as more and more people keep coming out to take part in the festivities.
At the fair this afternoon, there are plenty of activities and events to take part in that provide a little something for everyone. There’s everything from wagon rides and a performance from the HOJA Acapella Group to the classic Birds of Prey and SuperDogs. Starting the afternoon off at 1 o’clock, there were plenty of choices for entertainment: with a Magical Daredevil Comedy Show from James Johnson dazzling the audience with incredible stunts and displays and Doodles the Clown making our stomachs hurt from laughing as always, and Tim Holland the Stunt Ventriloquist leaving us in awe as well, among other events. The afternoon continued with SuperDogs and Birds of Prey both taking place at 1:30, drawing large crowds as usual. Tomorrow being the fifth and final day of the fair, it will be your last chance to join in on the fun! Magical Daredevil Comedy and Doodles the Clown, will be making multiple reappearances at 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1pm, and 3:30pm, along with Norman Foote. The final appearance of SuperDogs this week will be at 1:30, and a look at the “Science of the SuperDogs” will be taking place at the Ag Action stage later on in the day. And, of course, the usual petting zoo, delicious fair food, trade show, and other regular staples of the fair will be available all of tomorrow. Most importantly, throughout today and tomorrow, whenever you notice volunteers (who can easily be spotted by the vibrant blue shirts they wear), take the time to thank them for all the work they’ve done to help run the fair this week. The same goes for all the rest of the staff who are helping out with all of the events this week, give them a smile and say thanks! A lot of work has gone into this week and it really has gone amazingly well. I’ve certainly had an amazing time, and from the smiles I’ve seen all around me when I’ve walked through the vast crowds this week, I think everyone else is really enjoying themselves too.

Spring break for the kiddos is almost over, and if you’re itching to get them out of the house, today is a great day to bring them down to the winter fair! The RMWF has become a south western Manitoba ritual. It’s easy to forget that there are a ton of first-timers in the crowd. Are you a winter fair newbie? Looking to get the inside details of the “must-do’s” of the fair? Look no further! Here is a list dedicated to you and the things you definitely need to see/do this Friday at the winter fair in no particular order.
Petting Zoo – The petting zoo is a must-do for any family attending the fair, it is the perfect photo-op. Hold a baby goat, cuddle a chick, or a feed a llama

Food – How could you go the fair without eating fair food? These two things go hand in. Check out all the local vendors to satisfy your sweet tooth. Beavertails, lemonade, minidoughnuts, the list goes on and on!

James Johnson Magical Daredevil Comedy Show  – Fun for everyone in the family! Hilarious and thrilling, this show is sure to put a smile on the face of anyone who attends.

Birds of Prey – Ever seen a falcon, hawk and bald eagle all in the same room? Today is your day! These beautiful birds fly around the Royal Stage completely cageless. Come be mesmerized by these beautiful birds.

SuperDogs – This might be a favorite of mine, this exciting show is a winter fair staple. Watch dogs perform amazing tricks! It might just have your little one asking for a pet
